needs more content warnings than basically anything on earth outside of liveleak, but god its something else. if youve read Tatsuki Fujimotos other weird works you probably have some idea of what youre getting into, but its still a lot. heavily thematically-focused story about self-perception and the perception of others, and how the way people think of you changes who you are. also has a closeted trans man character who i think is handled pretty well but im biased cuz i love him.
one of my oldest ongoing reads. author does like a million other comics and i cannot reccommend them all enough. feast for a king is a thousands-of-pages-long massive-cast comic about worms, aliens, gender identity, alien-eating-worms, worm-eating-aliens, an author seeing how many weird kinks they can shove into one comic, and a robot with a disco dick (canon).
i could and probably will eventually write an essay on this one. quite good detective horror, terribly handled but very compelling queer romance. everyone reviewing this one on MAL can suck my nuts, stop getting hung up on your own bigotry you big babies. despite my criticisms of how hes handled tetsuo is one of my favorite characters in anything. i wish amano and yamashina's gender/sexualities weren't handled Like That but if youre willing to sludge through it theres a lot of good ideas about queer identity in the time period.
